II. Attention Points of Factory Pipe Prefabrication

a. Selection of prefabrication plant

Factory pipe prefabrication requires the raw materials and basic equipment to be prepared in the factory first, and then transported to the construction site after prefabrication. At this time, a scientific and appropriate prefabrication plant should be selected as far as possible, and the geographical location of the prefabrication plant and the route planning for transporting raw materials should be comprehensively considered to minimize transportation costs. Prefabrication plants close to raw materials or construction sites are preferred, and for cross-border projects close to ports can be selected. Some overseas projects will choose prefabrication factories that take into account the distance between the port location and the raw material area, which can save transportation costs and transportation time. After the prefabrication is completed, they can be loaded and delivered to the destination by shipping. This convenient and direct mode can well control project costs.

b. The principle of factory pipe prefabrication

Factory pipe prefabrication must first consider and evaluate the pipe design drawing, and make the prefabricated pipe section drawing according to the pipeline route planning drawing. The drawing needs to be combined with the engineering construction arrangement to divide the pipeline segment, mark the steps of pipeline construction through the form of coding, and mark the welding position of the pipeline welding, and do a distinguishing mark to identify whether the welding joint is a factory prefabricated welding joint. Industrial pipe prefabrication can take advantage of the superior equipment and conditions during prefabrication to undertake more pipeline welding and reduce the pressure of site construction. An important reference in the prefabrication of pipe segments is the scale of packaging and transportation. Because the pipe division will be restricted by the size of the packaging and transportation vehicle. When welding pipes on site, the fixed welding joint must be determined on the premise that the overall size of the pipe segment after packaging meets the capacity of the transport car.

Because the small pipeline is not strong enough, more fragile during transportation, prone to deformation and damage caused by shock, and the on-site welding speed is also very fast, which has little impact on the overall project progress, it is generally not necessary to adopt prefabrication behavior for small pipelines. However, at the connection between the small pipe and the large pipe, that is, in the middle of the pipe base and the reinforcing plate, it is best to set up a factory prefabricated welding joint. However, because the site construction conditions are not good enough, it is difficult to open the pipe and manufacture the reinforcing plate. Therefore, it can be considered to weld the pipe base and the reinforcing plate in advance at the prefabrication factory, where the reinforcing plate can be attached with a branch pipe to facilitate on-site connection.
