Gouge and grinding machine is mainly used for carbon steel, stainless steel circular seam chiseling, grinding, polishing; Stainless steel cladding inside the container welding layer grinding and polishing; Polish and polish the inner and outer circumference, longitudinal seam and weld reinforcement of the vessel and use it before the ship outfitting.
The equipment includes a CNC cross manipulator, a versatile high-powered grinding wheel and belt head, a dust removal system, an electronic system, and a pneumatic control system.
1, It comprises a base holder, a unit for adjusting levels, a column, a rotating mechanism, a power drive system, a mechanical locking mechanism, a cross slider/carriage, a beam, and a related moving system. The rotating mechanism between the base holder and column is powered by electricity.
2, The cross slider uses a reducer and ball screw drive for controlling up and down movements. The front and back movements of the beam are driven by a reducer motor and gear rack.
3, The column and beam guide rails are heavy-duty straight guides imported from overseas. The ends of the beam can be equipped with versatile and powerful abrasive wheels and belts, as well as a dust removal system. Other grinding and gouging head interfaces can also be added.
4, There are lifting lugs next to the column end, which are of a fixed type. An overhead crane can lift without the need for steel wires.
5, Dust protection units are installed on the cross sliders.
6, Staircases are provided on the column for maintenance purposes.
7, Deflection can be eliminated by a constant pressure relocation mechanism in the grinding and gouging head.
Multifunctional and powerful grinding wheel and belt head
1, It includes a mechanism for moving left and right, a vertical rotating connection flange for the grinding and gouge head, a horizontal rotation unit for the grinding and gouge head, a side swing prevention unit for the grinding and gouge head, a grinding motor, a welding seam abrasive wheel and grinding device, a powerful abrasive belt grinding device for root passes (including an abrasive belt contact wheel and devices for tight and side swing prevention), a pneumatic constant pressure relocation mechanism, an automatic blade lifting unit, and a dust removal cover.
2, The horizontal moving unit for the grinding and gouge head consists of a motor, a special reducer, and a small slide guide rail. Its purpose is to ensure that the grinding centerline aligns with the centerline of the device after a 90-degree rotation.
3, The vertical rotating connection flange for the grinding and gouge head includes a motor reduction unit. Its function is to make it easier for the abrasive belt to be parallel to the surface of the welding seam during grinding.
4. The rotating unit for grinding consists of a ring that rotates and a support system. It can be adjusted up to ±90 degrees to accommodate different seam conditions on the inside and outside of vessels.
5. The unit for preventing side swing of the grinding and gouging head includes a sliding device and a locking mechanism. The abrasive wheel can automatically adjust its direction based on sensor detection to follow the welding seam. This prevents the wheel from getting stuck or causing danger if the grinding direction changes. The locking device ensures that the abrasive track stays on course.
6. Both the grinding and gouging head and the grinding belt use the same beam and motor system, with consistent pressure distribution and an automatic blade lifting system. The only difference is that the abrasive belt has separate devices for tightening and preventing side swing, as well as covers.
7. The abrasive belt is capable of meeting the grinding needs for both the inside and outside of vessels.

The dust extraction system includes a large wet vacuum cleaner, dust removal hose, suction inlet, and associated pipes. It has a high flow rate and strong suction power, making it ideal for removing metal powder, scrap, fibers, and hazardous waste, especially sparked metal scraps. It is equipped with a spraying system and can also remove flammable and explosive dust. The system can operate continuously with a long service life and low maintenance costs. The hose connecting the suction inlet and vacuum cleaner is made of heat-resistant stainless steel.

PLC control system
The grinding and gouging machine is equipped with a Siemens PLC (S7-300) system. The control of the transmitter cabinet is mainly done through a handheld operation box for ease of use. The transmitter cabinet is situated at the rear of the machine, with separate fast interfaces for each function of the grinding & gouging head and accessories. The pneumatic unit requires an air source of 0.4~0.8mpa and includes an oil-water separator, using SMC components. The control of the grinding/gouging head coordinates is achieved through manual variable frequency drive. A mechanism for consistent pressure relocation helps prevent beam deflection during grinding and gouging, ensuring that the abrasive wheel remains perpendicular to the vessel's axis. The vessel roller should maintain a linear velocity of 0.1-3m/minute during grinding or gouging.
