In order to connect the steel plates seamlessly in the construction of the storage tank, it is necessary to use welding machines. Today we mainly introduce a welding method - Horizontal Submerged Arc Welding.
What is horizontal submerged arc welding?
What is the principle of horizontal submerged arc welding?
What are the precautions for horizontal submerged arc welding?
Disadvantages of horizontal submerged arc welding.
Horizontal seam submerged arc welding is a special form of automatic submerged arc welding. It is used to weld horizontal straight welds and horizontal girth welds. By using small welding power supply, arc voltage and high welding speed, the transverse weld is formed. This machine adopts flat characteristic welding power supply, equal speed wire feeding mode, reverse connection.
Submerged arc welding is a welding method in which the arc formed between the wire and the weldment is used as the heat source, and the granular flux and slag covered around the arc are used as the protection medium. The submerged arc welding flux and the molten slag formed after melting play a role in isolating the air, preventing the weld metal from atmospheric pollution, and improving the weld performance.
The welding principle is the same as common submerged arc welding, the main difference is to solve the problem of molten metal and flux flow.
1, The groove condition should be good (the groove should be clean, the root gap, the wrong edge, etc., should be corrected properly;)
2, The alignment of the welding wire and the distribution method of flux, the most important is the first layer of the first line of welding to pay special attention.
3, Bead appearance: When welding at a relatively high speed, it is possible to obtain a beautiful final layer of bead appearance. However, considering the appearance only, welding with too small current and high speed (such as 60cm/min) can cause hardening of the heat-affected zone. The bending test will produce defects, so you do not want to weld the bead too small
Slag inclusion, cracks, pores, edge bites and welding nodules.
