Key Components of the Girth Welding Machine
The main frame of the girth welder is made from structural steel and square tube members. The erection method is bottom-to-top and the minimum diameter for welding is φ5.0m. The shell width for bottom-to-top welding is 1.5-3.0m.

B. Dual Motor Propulsion
Thanks to the dual AC motor configuration, the equipment can travel smoothly around the entire circumference of the tank, even if the fit is not perfect or there are uneven surfaces. This feature will save time and costs as it reduces the need for repairing weld defects. A single, easily programmable frequency inverter controls both motors.
C. Power Source and Wire Feeding System
The welding equipment being provided includes the Miller HDC1500DX control, the RAD400 weld head with nozzle and wire rolls, and a wire reel weighing 27.2kg. The power source is the SubArc DC800,CE, and the welding progress control is the HDC1500DX. The RAD400 wire feeding system is also included.
D. Power Source and Wire Feeding System
The welding equipment being supplied includes the Lincoln NA-3S control, the weld head with nozzle and wire rolls, and a wire reel weighing 27.2kg. The power source is the DC600. Both the welding progress control and wire feeding system are the NA-3S.
E. Control Panel
The control panel of the AGW machine houses the electric travel inverter drive and control relays. It allows for unified control of all the girth welder’s accessories, including the flux vacuum, 220V single phase auxiliary outlet, lamp, and flux winch. The panel contains all the necessary control switches and knobs, such as the speed control potentiometer, direction switch, full speed travel switch, and emergency stop button.
F. Flux Retrieval System
Flux hopper holds up to 80kg and features a rotating flux dam.
G. Flux Lifting Hoist
This hoist can handle up to 160kg, lift to a maximum height of 30m, and has a lifting speed of 15m/min.
H. Cable Sets
Welding cable measures 120mm2×60m, control cable measures 10p×2.5mm2×60m, power cable measures 3p×4mm2×60m, and ground cable measures 120mm2×5m.
